It is with great sadness that the Board of Directors of the Descendants of Korean War Foundation(DKWF) announces the passing on November 3 of former Congressman Howard Coble (R-NC6). Congressman Coble served with distinction for 30 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and retired in early January of this year. He was a Korean War veteran.
Congressman Coble will remain in the hearts of all of us, especially to descendants and families of Korean War veterans,as a dedicated public servant who served his country during a time of great need. On this Veterans Day holiday,DKWF members will honor Congressman Coble with a moment of silence.
Since 2013, DKWF has awarded the “Congressman Howard Coble Public Service Award” to high school and college students and will proudly continue to award academic scholarships named in his honor.
